Don't Touch My Heart
Every touch takes away rather than adding to it, every touch hurts, every touch leaves a fresh wound. If only this heart could hurt back if only this heart could cut and cause pain like it experiences but it's just left with rough bleeding edges that chip away at who it is. This heart struggles with trying to maintain its identity as love rather than succumbing to the pressures it feels.
Original, matted and framed, 16" wide by 20" tall. Colored pencil, graphite and charcoal on paper.
